Stay connected with the World Championship

Posted on

The World Championship isn’t just about the scores at the end of the day. So many of the players’ and families’ stories are being told through USKG social media likeTwitterFacebookInstagram and this blog, but our friends are helping us tell the stories, too.

Pinehurst Resort has spent time talking with the competitors and learned why they love golf, and that it’s a beautiful day in Pinehurst, no matter what language you speak.

Local media outlets have shown great support of the event. In addition to U.S. Kids Golf’s photo gallery from the Parade of Nations, The Pilot posted a photo gallery of its own and also published a special 16-page insert that celebrates the championship and what it means to the community.

The Aberdeen Times helped tell the story of Ethan Davidson, recipient of the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Award, while the Fayetteville Observer’s Stephen Schramm explains that love of practice unites competitors at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship.

Even with the support of local media, so many of the best stories from the week are being told by the players and parents themselves.
